A very important workshop with experts and parents before the intervention 3

These last few weeks my main work continued on making AR, for which I contacted several experts on the subject. Then I’ve recently been using a game engine, unity, to design some AR solutions, such as distorting long pieces of text, or color processing. In other words, I give you a piece of text, and when you use your phone to scan it, you will see the world in your phone as it appears in the eyes of a dyslexic.

How do I know? I contacted several parents and talked to their children through them and processed the picture as they described. I think the finished product will be ready in the last week or two, and I may design an intervention then. My initial idea is to open an online workshop to engage parents and listen to their feedback.

So I had an online workshop with 10 parents in the chat group, starting with their feedback on the group, and they all thanked me for creating such a communication group where they could talk to each other about how to tutor their children. Other parents found information about dyslexia specialists in the group, contacted them and received very effective information about treatment.

Secondly， I then called and invited an external expert named wang peng, who is currently in the Creative industry and is the creative director of the company, and who is dyslexic. he used his own personal experience to tell parents that children with dyslexia are generally gifted in other areas and that it is wiser to identify and nurture their child’s strengths in other areas earlier.

Thirdly, I interviewed the children about the images that would appear in their eyes when they were reading. I recorded all this key information. This became valuable information for my third intervention.

One other thing that I am very happy about. My dyslexia communication group is now over a hundred people strong. I feel that I should continue to do this even when the course is over. I’m trying to contact some experts to join my group to make it more professional, but I haven’t gotten permission from any of them yet.

But there are also some difficulties with my brainwave device, I tested my brainwaves after sending them back home from the UK, although I read in my thesis that dyslexic patients have different brainwaves when they read, but after I went through the test the results I found that my data didn’t seem to measure anything different, it looked like the data were all the same, maybe this thing is too simple? I don’t know, maybe I should give up on this stuff, I’m still not professional enough.
